Little Lady Lou

Finally finished (for now) with the bathroom decor. Poor Christopher needs a level and a drill. He was a champ though, and battled through screwing in everything by hand. Doesn't help that whatever is on our walls is solid as a rock! Here is the rug I found at Marshalls on sale... just love the colors! They even went with the existing shower curtain Chris had.
This is my shadow box, which ended up being more of a pain than I thought. I got most of the seashells from my mom and grandmother who has always collected them. I bought the starfish at Marshalls to add something different. I laid the shadowbox face down and filled it. Because of the mis-shaped shells, when I lifted the shadowbox up, there were some holes as expected so I taped some colorful paper to the back mat. Not completely satisfied with the look, but I am over it. Lol.
I used a few of the extra shells/starfish for decorations on the toilet. I'm debating coloring the white starfish a pale blue and hanging them on the wall instead of toilet decoration.
And lastly, the front view of the bathroom. My mom gave me these goldish curtains because I mention Chris needed some for ALL rooms... and they happen to match the rug I bought perfectly. It actually looks like a nice bathroom now. No jail cell, like Christ used to call it :)
Sorry about these pics... done with my camera phone.

Idle hands are the devil's playtoy...

So, it's been awhile since I have blogged about anything. I decided that with all my new free time since I've graduated, it's time to not only cook/craft, but also to share my projects with others! I've already posted a few of them on facebook, but from now on, I will try to show some step by step pictures. Soon I will be living with Chris, and I've already started to decorate. Luckily, Chris loves it... says he makes it feel more like a home. My choice was the bathroom, starting with a small room seems to have worked. I made a great find today at Marshalls for a rug, and starfish for the "ocean" theme I've decided on. I will put up pictures when I get everything hung up, including my DIY seashell shadowbox!! :) Until next time... Ashley

Test 1, 2, 1, 2

This is my test post. Trying to get all the colors and such down so this is readable. :)
